The Character: Matt Honeycutt is one of the main characters in L.J. Smith's Vampire Diaries series. He's the first person to befriend Stefan Salvatore when he first arrives in Fell's Church (despite the fact his girlfriend, Elena, dumps him to pursue Stefan), sticking by him in times of need, even when he discovers that Stefan is a vampire. He's also the only one of the group who steps back from events enough to work out that Damon isn't the bad guy he paints himself to be. Loyal to his family and friends, Matt is an awesome guy who manages to earn the respect of two 500 year old vampires, becomes the best friend of one of them, and even helps his ex-girlfriend get the man of her dreams rather than sink into bitterness and hate her. Personally, I think he's fantastic, but is sadly overlooked by most people. So this site is here to pay homage to the awesomeness that is Matt Honeycutt. About damn time he got some recognition, right?

Matt Donovan is the TV series version of Matt Honeycutt. While there are many changes from the transition of book to screen, the character of Matt seems to be essentially the same good guy we all know and love. While we'll have to wait and see what happens with him in regard to his personal story and his friendship with Stefan, he's still a pretty damned awesome character.
